William & Mary Volleyball Bolsters Roster with Transfer and Freshmen Talent
William & Mary’s volleyball program is gearing up for the 2026 season with the addition of Oregon transfer Maya De Los Reyes and incoming freshman Erika Larson, announced by head coach Kellie Catanach Johnson on Wednesday. These additions aim to strengthen the Tribe’s competitive edge as they prepare for future challenges.
Maya De Los Reyes: Experienced Defensive Powerhouse
Maya De Los Reyes, a 5-2 defensive specialist/libero, brings valuable experience to Williamsburg after three seasons with the Oregon Ducks. During her time at Oregon, De Los Reyes appeared in 48 matches and contributed significantly to the team’s success. In 2024, she played in 30 matches, recording 31 digs and 23 service aces – a performance that tied her for fifth on the team in that category.
De Los Reyes was part of a highly successful Oregon program, boasting a 96-33 record over the past four seasons and three NCAA Tournament appearances, including an Elite Eight run in 2022. Coach Johnson expressed excitement about De Los Reyes’s impact, highlighting her energy, experience, and leadership qualities. “It was clear from our first conversations that her energy and experience will impact our gym right away,” Johnson stated. “We are tremendously grateful that she chose William & Mary as the place she wants to finish her college career.”
Erika Larson: Rising Setter Joins the Tribe
Joining De Los Reyes is Erika Larson, a 5-11 setter from Cary, North Carolina. Larson arrives at William & Mary as a highly decorated high school player, having been a four-year letterwinner and two-time captain at Ravenscroft School. She led the Ravens to two TISAC Championships and earned All-TISAC honors three times, alongside two all-state selections.
Larson’s accolades extend to the club circuit, where she participated in the USA Volleyball National Training Development Program. She was recognized as a PrepVolleyball AAU Standout and selected for the AVCA Phenom Watchlist and JVA Watchlist. Coach Johnson praised Larson’s potential, noting her “calm, confident style of play” and setting abilities. “Erika is an exceptional addition to an already strong freshman class,” Johnson said. “Her setting abilities will only serve to bolster that position group and help us right away.”
Expanding the Freshman Class
Larson joins Regan Hill (Opposite, Garnet Valley, Pa.), Emily McKee (Outside Hitter, Stamford, Conn.), and Teagan Pocius (Middle Blocker, St. Louis, Mo.) as part of William & Mary’s promising 2026 freshman class. This influx of talent signals a commitment to building a strong foundation for the Tribe’s volleyball program.
