Now it’s just a matter of quickly getting to the hotel, booking a flight ticket, and getting home so I don’t miss two things,” he added, noting that he is expecting to become a father in the coming days.
Niklas Wall Makes Senior Championship Debut
Fellow Swede Niklas Wall finished 23rd in the qualification standings during his first major senior championship appearance. Wall, who improved his outdoor personal best from 7.63 to 7.85 meters earlier this year, put together a series of 7.53 (+2.3), 7.49 (+0.6), and 7.52 (+2.6) meters in Birmingham.
“I am very disappointed. It felt much better than it looked, I had more to give, but it is what it is. I had to lengthen my run-up a lot and didn’t run as hard as I did during the Swedish Championships, for example,” Wall stated following the competition.
