Best Buy marks its 60th anniversary with a massive weeklong sale featuring steep discounts on tech and electronics, alongside a one-day, in-store-only doorbuster event on Saturday, August 22, offering a $100 gift card for just $60.
The electronics retailer is celebrating six decades in business with a promotional push running from August 17-23, with even bigger deals expected over the weekend (Aug. 21-23). While online markdowns and daily deals span the entire week, the celebration hits a new gear on Saturday with physical storefronts opening their doors for limited-quantity inventory drops and heavy discounts. Best Buy’s Top 60 Deals This Season is packed with savings on some of the year’s most popular electronics in honor of the retailer’s 60th anniversary, covering laptops, tablets, TVs, headphones, smart home gadgets, trading card games, and cameras.
The In-Store $100 Gift Card Deal and Saturday Doorbusters
The centerpiece of the Saturday, August 22 event is an in-store-only gift card promotion. Shoppers can purchase a $100 Best Buy gift card for $60, available exclusively at physical stores—no online shopping, no browsing ahead of time. The deal is capped at one card per customer, and physical locations are guaranteed a minimum of 50 anniversary gift cards each, though exact inventory will vary by location.

Because supplies are strictly limited, Best Buy is advising shoppers to get there early—some locations may even use a line management system and hand out tickets if crowds build up—and you might want to plan on getting there no later than opening time to boost your chance of getting one. Best Buy has confirmed there won’t be rainchecks for anyone who can’t make it Saturday, and the gift card deal doesn’t qualify for the Price Match Guarantee, even though you’re buying it directly in-store. There are some limitations on how you can use the gift card: you can’t use them to buy other gift cards, like iTunes or Google Play credit, and they also can’t be used to buy prepaid or open-loop debit cards. However, they can be used in combination with other discounts or promotions on products from Best Buy, and any returns or cancellations you make will credit back to the gift card.
In addition to the gift card drop, Best Buy will also have an in-store drop for Pokémon TCG on August 22, featuring First Partner Illustration Collection Boxes and Pitch Black sealed products. Ascended Heroes, Destined Rivals, and Prismatic Evolutions may also be available.
Weeklong Price Cuts on TVs, Laptops, and Apple Gear
Away from the physical storefront doorbusters, the broader anniversary sale includes deep price reductions across major tech categories. Promotions span televisions, laptops, tablets, headphones, cameras, gaming gear, smart home products, Bluetooth speakers from JBL and Bose, Beats headphones, and TCGs like Magic and Pokémon, making it a smart place to shop whether you’re heading back to school, refreshing your entertainment setup, or starting your holiday shopping early.

Television buyers will find marked-down models from brands like Samsung, Hisense, Insignia, and more. Notably, the Hisense 58-inch QD50 Hi-QLED 4K Roku TV is available for $149.99, down from $399.99 (Best Buy is taking $210 off). Meanwhile, the Insignia 55-inch Class F70 Series 4K UHD QLED Mini-LED Smart TV with Fire TV is marked down from $700 to $250, saving $450 off.

Apple products also feature heavily in the weeklong rotation. Shoppers can find solid deals on AirPods Pro 3, iPhone Air, Beats accessories, and MacBook Pro. You can get the Apple AirPods Pro 3 on sale for $189.99, down from $249.99 ($60 off). Other Apple offers include the AirPods Max 2 for $429.00 ($120 off), up to $160 off iPhone Air unlocked models, and the MacBook Pro 14-inch with M5 chip, now $1,849, reduced from $1,999. Laptop shoppers can also check out the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3 Chromebook for $189, saving $230.
Other highlights include discounts on Ultra Pro TCG accessories, such as the Pikachu-themed deck box and playmat for Pokémon TCG, alongside the Final Fantasy Y’shtola playmat for Magic: The Gathering.
Membership Rewards and Additional Online Promotions
Most of the anniversary discounts do not require you to be a My Best Buy Plus or Total member to see most of the deals. However, Best Buy is giving My Best Buy Plus and Total members 10% back in rewards, up to $60, on orders during the sale. New Best Buy cardholders will earn 15% back in rewards on their first day of purchases.
Other online incentives include a bundled offer for laptop buyers. Purchasing a MacBook Neo isn’t discounted itself, but Best Buy is throwing in a free $25 Starbucks gift card with any MacBook Neo purchase this week.
