The investigation drew renewed scrutiny to a video Watts posted following McCollough’s death, which he subsequently deleted. In the recording, he discussed grief, meditation, and his ongoing connection to McCollough before describing the manner of her death as “pretty, pretty elegant in many ways.” The clip predated the investigative report. McCollough’s loved ones objected to the characterization, and her sister reportedly asked him to remove the video.

Not all dates on Watts’ calendar have been canceled. His official website still displays upcoming US performances, including September dates in Montana and an appearance at the Monterey Jazz Festival. Whether those engagements will proceed amid ongoing industry fallout remains unconfirmed.
