Achieving 60 FPS on Nintendo Switch 2 Hardware
To hit the performance target, Shift Up relies on a hybrid technical approach. According to Lee, the game works with a base of 30 FPS, maintaining consistency and latency under control, while interpolation is used to reach the presentation of 60 FPS.
The pipeline splits depending on whether the console sits in its dock. In TV mode, the game presents an image in 1080p obtained through upscaling. In handheld mode, the title roda em 720p sem upscaling.

The studio implemented AMD’s FSR 3.1 frame interpolation technology on top of the DLSS upscaled image. Lee explained that the team uses DLSS first to upscale the image and then applies the FSR 3.1 frame interpolation over the result.
