e.l.f. Cosmetics is releasing Mirror Mix, a second original compilation album showcasing seven emerging talents from the rock, Latin, R&B, and pop genres, per a Friday (Sept. 25) exclusive announcement from Billboard. The project comes from parent company e.l.f. Beauty (NYSE: ELF) and aims to bridge the gap between beauty and music while championing breakthrough performers through its entertainment arm, e.l.f. Made.
The Mirror Mix Artist Lineup and Tracklist
The seven-track project showcases a diverse roster of independent and emerging talent. Latin Grammy-winning Venezuelan singer-songwriter and e.l.f. ambassador Joaquina leads the tracklist with her Spanish-language song, “Ya No Estoy.” Grammy-winning independent artist Mamii contributes “Transitions,” while WNBA star, rapper, businesswoman, and philanthropist Flau’jae Johnson performs “What Can’t I Do.”
“Being able to release this song in partnership with e.l.f. literally feels like a dream come true, especially because makeup has been part of my life and a form of self-expression since I was a teenager,” Joaquina tells Billboard. “The song is about learning to be alone, to love myself and not to dim my light for anyone, while makeup has always been a way for me to discover myself, express myself and feel like myself.”
The album rounds out its tracklist with rocker Brasko performing “Look Don’t Touch,” pop-rock sibling trio Hello Sister (comprising sisters Grace, Gabriella, and Scarlett Mason) with “Girlhood Is Forever,” Colombian-Dominican singer-songwriter NEZZA with “Bésame,” and power vocalist Sadie Rose Van with “Kiss.” NEZZA’s inclusion follows a high-profile summer 2025 performance where she sang the national anthem in Spanish at a Los Angeles Dodgers game.
Democratizing Access in the Music Industry
Patrick O’Keefe, chief integrated marketing officer at e.l.f. Brands, says the company built upon its debut album by giving artists a larger platform through e.l.f. Made. “We felt strongly that the artists’ voices should speak for themselves and let the music carry the brand story rather than imposing creative constraints,” O’Keefe states. “At its core, this is about democratizing access – passing the mic to give the next generation of artists a real platform for self-expression.”
The corporate push addresses stark financial realities facing independent musicians. Citing industry figures, e.l.f. notes that one in three independent artists without a label backing face severe challenges with exposure and getting their music heard. In a single year, 78% of independent artists earn less than $15,000 from their music, only 13% live solely off their earnings, and 82% cannot afford to tour, a figure that jumps to 87.5% for artists aged 18 to 24.

Genius Live Partnership and Multi-Platform Rollout
To celebrate the release, e.l.f. has partnered with lyrics platform Genius to host a live Open Mic content series on Wednesday, Sept. 30. The event brings the seven featured acts to an intimate stage to perform stripped-back versions of their tracks.
“Open Mic has always been about helping fans discover artists and connect more deeply with the music they love, whether it’s a rising star or a household name,” says Rob Markman, VP of music & content at Genius. “We’re excited to bring e.l.f.’s Mirror Mix to a live stage.”
In addition to the live showcase, the album will land on major streaming platforms like Spotify, Apple Music, and Amazon Music. e.l.f. is also integrating the tracks directly into e.l.f. UP! on Roblox, meeting fans across gaming, social platforms, and live events.
