TV 2 program editor Trygve Rønningen stated that it was sporty of Krogh to step up on such short notice. According to TV 2, Krogh received the offer while vacationing in Greece with her friend Frida Hollund. She caught the first flight home on Tuesday after learning of the open spot, arriving just three days before the live premiere on Saturday, September 26. Krogh stated to Nettavisen that she did not hesitate to accept, noting she had manifested her participation during a trip last year and hoped to be paired with Svalastog.

Krogh enters the competition after actor Henriette Lien, 56, was forced to withdraw on Tuesday before the season started. TV 2 reported that production intervened after Lien experienced severe hip pain during rehearsals. Lien stated to TV 2 that she initially ignored the pain due to her background as a dancer, attempting treatments including ice baths, shockwave therapy, meditation, and manifestation. Doctors later informed her that her hip was completely worn out and that a single jump on live television could cause it to break, requiring immediate surgery and an autumn of rehabilitation instead of dancing.
Competition Format and Premiere Night
Because Krogh joined only three days before the premiere, she faced a significant disadvantage compared to other celebrities who trained for a month, as noted by participants Alexander Bonsaksen and Sebastian Solberg to TV 2. However, TV 2 confirmed that no couples were eliminated during the first live broadcast on Saturday. Viewer votes and judges’ scores from the premiere will combine with results from the second week to determine the first elimination.
