Jared Leto Faces Sexual Misconduct Allegations in BBC Documentary

Ten women have spoken out against Jared Leto in a BBC investigation titled Jared Leto: Hollywood’s Dark Secret, with nine of those women sharing their experiences publicly for the first time. The allegations span a 14-year period between 2002 and 2016, a timeframe during which the actor and Thirty Seconds to Mars frontman was in his 30s and 40s. Four of the women accuse Leto of criminal sexual conduct committed when they were teenagers, according to reporting across multiple outlets.

Motel and Hotel Encounters Detail Alleged Assaults in 2002 and 2013

Among the allegations detailed in Deadline, a woman identified by the pseudonym Isabel alleged that Leto sexually assaulted her in a Las Vegas motel bathroom in 2002 when she was 17 years old. Isabel stated that Leto, who was then in his 30s, called her into the shower area and used her hand to masturbate himself.

A second woman, identified as Alex, alleged that Leto threatened her with sexual assault after she attended a Thirty Seconds to Mars concert at London’s O2 Arena in 2013. Then 19, Alex said she walked into a dark hotel room expecting an after-party, only to find just Leto inside. When she asked for assistance to get home, Leto allegedly told her that she would wake up with a dick in her ass if she stayed on the room’s chaise longue, according to Cosmopolitan.

Statutory Rape Allegations and California Age of Consent Discussions

A third woman, identified as Clara, stated that she had sex with Leto at his home in California in 2006 when she was 17 and he was 34. Under California law, the encounter constituted statutory rape. Clara stated that when they discussed the state’s age of consent, Leto kind of shrugged it off, like it wasn’t a huge concern for him, as noted in Variety. Clara further alleged that Leto asked her to call him daddy and to pretend to be a little girl, noting retrospectively that the situation was far more dangerous than she realized at the time.

A fourth woman alleged that Leto subjected her to sexually explicit phone calls when she was 16 after they met at a Los Angeles modeling agency in 2014. According to ScreenDaily, the woman stated that Leto suggested they have sex and subsequently sent her a non-disclosure agreement to prevent her from discussing their relationship, which she refused to sign but showed to the BBC.

Band Staff Warnings and Prior Allegations from 2025

The documentary also features accounts from two men who worked with Leto’s band, who stated that staff felt uncomfortable about Leto’s interactions with teenage girls, noting that he frequently invited them backstage or to his recording house. I think everyone thought the age gap was way too big, one of the staff members said.

The current documentary follows previous public accusations against the actor. In June 2025, Los Angeles DJ Allie Teilz posted on social media about an alleged assault when she was 17, which prompted an investigative report by Air Mail featuring nine women who accused Leto of inappropriate behavior. At that time, Leto’s representatives denied those accusations, characterizing them as demonstrably false. Leto’s representatives have not responded to requests for comment regarding the latest BBC documentary findings.
