Survivor alumnus Rick Devens won Big Brother Season 28 during the October 1, 2026, live finale on CBS, capturing the $750,000 grand prize by a six-to-one jury vote over runner-up Taylor Brown after evicting Drew Campbell in the final round.
After 87 days of twists, alliances, and time-travel themes in the Big Brother season 28 house, host Julie Chen Moonves crowned a winner during the 90-minute live CBS broadcast on October 1, 2026.
Taylor Brown finished as the season’s runner-up, taking home the $75000 consolation prize after receiving a single jury vote from LaTrice Verrett. In addition to his grand prize, Devens collected an extra $50000 after winning America’s Favorite Player and $10,000 for unleashing the Pharaoh’s Curse earlier in the summer, bringing his total season earnings to $810,000, according to Page Six.
The season featured 17 houseguests moving into the Time Trip-themed house on July 9, alongside reality TV icons such as Devens, Dee Valladares, and Angela Murray. Fans voted online for America’s Favorite Houseguest on CBS.com until noon ET on Thursday, October 1, with polls drawing attention from outlets like the Gold Derby, JokersUpdates, and RHAP AFP surveys. Following the live feeds going dark at noon ET on the day of the finale, viewers without cable accessed the broadcast via services like DIRECTV and Fubo, or through Paramount+ the following day.
The Final Head Of Household Showdown And Drew Campbell’s Eviction
The path to the final two came down to a grueling three-part Head of Household competition among the final three houseguests: Devens, Brown, and Drew Campbell. Taylor Brown won the first part of the competition during a rainstorm-themed endurance challenge, while Devens defeated Campbell in the Shakespeare-themed second part to set up a final showdown, according to recaps from TV Grapevine and Us Weekly.
During the live finale, Devens won the final trivia-based HOH round, giving him sole power to choose his companion for the final two. Despite a close alliance with Campbell throughout the season, Devens chose to evict him and take Brown to the end—a strategic move that left Campbell in tears upon joining the jury, as detailed by TV Grapevine.

Throughout the summer, Campbell played a central role in multiple alliances and won several competitions, though several houseguests told Page Six they felt most betrayed by him. Pre-jury evictee Mallory Aurichio stated he did not have her best interests at heart, and Melody Morris noted she would not consider a romantic relationship with him in the real world.
“I always knew he was tight with the ‘Icons’ and I knew he talked too much, but I had been kind of assuming he had my best interests and he didn’t.”

“I feel good. Because I have acknowledged that I was being a jerk. And I was letting my own foolish ego get in the way. I was like, ‘Why are you rooting against this dude?’ And it was because… Well, there were a few reasons. Let me dial it back.”
