The gathering brings together past winners and industry professionals from various generations to review Latvian music history and discuss the future of the awards. The evening program includes a jury panel discussion and the premiere of the second part of the documentary film “30 Years in Latvian Music,” which covers the decade from 2006 to 2016. The first part of the documentary series premiered at the previous year’s gathering.
Amanda Sleže, representing the Zelta Mikrofons association, described the event as a music community touchstone, noting that receiving the award represents a milestone in Latvian cultural preservation.
