A full paid game normally priced at 1,990 forints is now available for zero forints as Epic Games Store users can claim System Shock 2: 25th Anniversary Remaster and Buried Stars for free until October 8 at 5:00 p.m. The promotion, which also includes the Bridge Constructor Studio mobile title, allows players to keep the games permanently once added to their library.
Nightdive Studios updates classic sci-fi horror game
The headline addition to the store’s rotation is the System Shock 2: 25th Anniversary Remaster, a title gamekapocs.hu describes as a "classic sci-fi horror" game. It is a sequel to an even larger classic, set in the early 2100s on a spacecraft hit by an infection where the AI known as SHODAN is the primary antagonist. hu.ign.com notes it is for those who enjoy immersive sims similar to Prey or BioShock. Developed by Nightdive Studios, this version updates the 1999 original with 4K resolution support and 120 fps performance, as noted by gamekapocs.hu. The original PC release was followed by versions for Xbox, PlayStation, and Nintendo, and a Switch 2 version was released in June of this year. The game features a cooperative mode with crossplay functionality and offers 10 to 15 hours of gameplay.
Alongside it, Buried Stars is available for download. gamekapocs.hu characterizes this as a "visual novel" where players navigate a trapped group of reality show contestants following a building collapse. The narrative focuses on a murder mystery involving the survivors, with trust eroding as more bodies are discovered.
Bridge Constructor Studio mobile expansion
In addition to the PC titles, the Epic Games Store has expanded its free offerings to include mobile gaming. gsplus.hu reported that Bridge Constructor Studio is available for free on Android and iOS devices.
gsplus.hu noted that while the game is typically priced at 1,990 forints, it is currently free for users who add it to their Epic account before the October 8 deadline. The title includes over 70 puzzles and allows for experimental building without budget constraints, though players can opt for restricted budgets to increase difficulty. Players must guide vehicles across bridges, including city buses, delivery vans, pizza couriers, heavy log haulers, and monster trucks.
Upcoming Epic Games Store titles
The store has already announced the next set of free games, which will be available from October 8 until October 15. pcguru.hu and hu.ign.com confirmed the upcoming titles are Out of Sight and TerraScape.
The second title, TerraScape, is a city-building strategy game.
Claim the free games before October deadline
How long do I have to claim the current free games?
All three titles currently on offer—System Shock 2: 25th Anniversary Remaster, Buried Stars, and Bridge Constructor Studio—must be claimed by October 8 at 5:00 p.m. CET.
Can I play the free games after the promotion ends?
Yes. As reported by gsplus.hu, once a game is added to your Epic Games Store library during the promotional period, it remains permanently available for you to download and play.
Is there a difference between the PC and mobile versions of the offers?
Yes. While System Shock 2 and Buried Stars are PC titles, Bridge Constructor Studio is specifically provided as an Android and iOS game. gsplus.hu noted that European Union users can install the Epic Games Store mobile app directly to manage these titles. Users can add both the Android and iOS versions to their library simultaneously.
