Man in 30s Knife-Stabbed in Ås: Suspect Denies Guilt
A man in his 30s is in critical but stable condition after being stabbed with a knife at a private residence in Vinterbro, Ås, on Saturday afternoon. The suspect, also in his 30s, has been arrested and denies any wrongdoing.
The incident was reported around 5:13 PM local time, with the victim initially feared to have life-threatening injuries. However, Lars Wik, duty officer at Follo Police Station, confirmed on Monday that the man is now out of danger.
Both the suspect and the victim were questioned on Sunday. The suspect’s defense lawyer, Liv Fludal, told NTB that her client does not acknowledge guilt. Police are unlikely to seek custody for the suspect, as both parties have provided explanations, Wik said.
The two individuals are close family members, but police have not disclosed the exact nature of their relationship. According to Wik, the victim was visiting the suspect when a disagreement escalated into the stabbing. No other individuals were involvement.
The suspect was taken into custody at the scene and is charged with severe bodily harm. During questioning, the suspect admitted to the incident, although his lawyer declined to comment further.
The motive behind the stabbing remains unclear, and the investigation is ongoing.
