Free Public Transport in Riga on New Year’s Eve and January 1st

Ring in the New Year with a gift from "Rīgas satiksme" – free public transport! The agency has announced that there will be no fares on New Year’s Eve and January 1st, making it easier for residents and visitors alike to enjoy the festivities and safely return home.

Zero Fare, No Registration Required

On December 31st and January 1st, climb aboard Riga’s buses, trolleybuses, and tramways without worry. E-tickets and code tickets will not require registration during this period.

Bonus Trips for a Smooth Ride Home

To ensure a cheerful and hassle-free journey back from New Year’s celebrations, "Rīgas satiksme" will provide additional trips on several public transport routes during the late hours of New Year’s Eve and early morning of January 1st. Here’s a list of the bonus routes:

  • Buses: 3, 12, 23, 24, 25, 26, 37, 51, 53
  • Trams: 1, 5, 7, 11
  • Trolleybuses: 4, 9, 15, 17, 18

Park and Enjoy: Free Parking Too

In addition, the agency’s paid parking lots will also be free of charge, excluding the underground parking at Krīšjāņa Valdemāra iela 5A. Celebrate the arrival of the New Year with peace of mind, knowing that your transportation and parking needs are covered.
