Applications for 40 newly built one-bedroom affordable apartments at St Laurence’s Park in Stillorgan are set to open on Wednesday, 12 August at 12pm, according to Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council (DLRCC). Developed by the council on its own land, the project aims to help first-time and other eligible buyers purchase homes at a reduced price through the Affordable Purchase Scheme.
St Laurence’s Park Development Pricing and Layouts
The development offers distinct pricing tiers depending on parking allocation and apartment size. According to DLRCC, prices for one of the 21 one-bedroom apartments without a parking space start from €255,000. Meanwhile, prices for one of the 11 apartments that include parking begin from €270,000. An additional eight larger apartments also carry starting prices of €270,000. Beyond the residential units, the new site includes a two-storey library and community spaces. DLRCC stated that the location places residents within walking distance of Stillorgan Village, shops, cafés, and restaurants.
Application Windows and Eligibility Rules
The application portal will accept submissions online until Wednesday, 2 September at 5pm. To qualify for the Affordable Purchase Scheme, applicants must meet specific financial and residency criteria. According to the council, buyers must hold a minimum deposit of 10% of the purchase price, and the property must serve as their normal place of residence. Under the mechanics of the scheme, DLRCC provides an equity contribution ranging between 10% and 40%, which directly reduces the amount the buyer needs to borrow. In exchange, the council retains an equivalent equity share in the home, which owners may choose to buy back over time.

DLRCC chair Barry Saul described the initiative as great news for individuals seeking to establish a home in Stillorgan. According to Saul, the development provides excellent transport links and, paired with the opening of the new Stillorgan Library later this year, is likely to foster a growing community.
