The former Minister of Health, Ginés González García, reappeared this Friday with a message after the VIP vaccine scandal that ended in his resignation from the national government.
The sanitarista used social networks to fire Jose Pepe Guccione, head of the Federal Articulation of the Ministry of Health of the Nation, who died of the coronavirus. The official had not been vaccinated.
“He was an essential who loved life like few others, a different, a loyal one. You will never stop being present. The Nation loses an exemplary official “said Ginés on his Twitter account.
He also recalled that Guccione was a “man of integrity” who “embraced public health from the depths of his being.” And I add: “It was part of many collective dreams that we knew how to build and in this last great challenge the battle against the covid was put on our shoulders, which paradoxically defeated it.
In the same vein, the brand new minister Carla Vizzotti, who succeeded González García, also said goodbye to Guccione on social media.
“We all loved Pepe, a political activist who occupied places where he left his mark and friends, supportive, fun without ceasing to be serious and very committed”, public.
“He was happy with his new challenge: Undersecretary of federal articulation on the return of the Ministry of Health. We saw them working tirelessly for an increasingly just and federal country, “he continued.
The minister learned this Friday that she also contracted coronavirus and went into isolation in compliance with current health protocols. Vizzotti performed a swab today as part of the procedure required to enter the National Congress next Monday and participate in the Legislative Assembly, an act that formalizes the beginning of the ordinary parliamentary activity of the year.
The news was known the same day that the national government defined the legal procedure to “make the coronavirus vaccination process transparent” to strategic personnel in the three areas of the State.
Vizzotti today signed Resolution 2021 – published after noon in the Official Gazette – that regulates this system, with the aim of ordering priorities when distributing doses among those who are considered key officials for the public function.
Guccione, a former Minister of Health in the province of Misiones, was hospitalized for two weeks and shared photos from the hospital. He was a patient at risk for having undergone surgery for a bone marrow transplant. His name is not on the VIP vaccinated lists.
Former minister Ginés González García presented his resignation to the national cabinet last week after the scandal generated by the application of a coronavirus vaccine to journalist Horacio Verbitsky without a previous appointment and in dependencies of that portfolio. Other people who were not included in the priority groups were also vaccinated, such as trade unionist Hugo Moyano, former president Eduardo Duhalde, and filmmaker Jorge “Topo” Devoto, among others.
Ginés was indicted, along with his former chief of staff Lisandro Emilio Bonelli, by federal prosecutor Eduardo Taiano in a case where alleged irregularities in the application of vaccines against the coronavirus are being investigated.
