Two Bulgarian Citizens Arrested in Serbia for Assault on Father and Son

BELGRADE, Serbia — Serbian police have arrested two Bulgarian citizens on the Belgrade-Niš motorway near the city of Velika PlaҰa for aggressive behavior, the Serbian news agency TANJUG reported, as cited by BTA.

According to the police in Smederevo, the two Bulgarians, G.G. (23) and I.G. (48), are accused of verbally and physically attacking the driver of a BMW (48) and his son (21) with their hands, feet, and wooden and metal sticks. The father sustained severe injuries, while the son suffered minor injuries.

The incident occurred after a traffic jam formed on the motorway due to roadworks on the bridge over the river Jasenica.

G.G. is suspected of breaking the front window and damaging the roof of the victims’ car.

The Bulgarians have been placed under arrest pending an investigation and will be taken before the chief prosecutor in Velika PlaҰa.
