Breaking: Air Strikes in Rostov Region as Russian PVO Shoots Down Nine Ukrainian Drones
In a tense overnight scenario, the Rostov region of Russia faced a barrage of air strikes as its air defense forces successfully intercepted and destroyed nine Ukrainian drones. According to Yuri Slyusar, the acting governor of the region, the counterattack began at around 9 PM local time, targeting the area around Millerovo.
Slyusar took to his Telegram channel to announce the attacks, stating, "As of now, eight enemy UAVs have been shot down in the Millerovo area." He also confirmed that territorial defense forces and mobile fire teams continue to repel the ongoing aggression.
The Russian Ministry of Defense later confirmed the takedown, releasing a statement that read, "Using deployed air defense systems, nine Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles have been destroyed over the territory of the Rostov region."
Local Telegram channels have reported hearing loud explosions throughout the region, indicating the intense air activity. As of this report, casualty and damage assessments are still underway. Authorities are urging residents to remain vigilant and follow all safety protocols.
