Title: Train Derailment in Bulgaria: Second Incident in a Day Disrupts Services
In an unexpected turn of events, a freight train derailed for the second time in a single day in Bulgaria, causing significant disruptions to rail services. The incident occurred around 9:20 AM local time when four wagons of a 24-wagon composition carrying coal derailed while transiting through Batak station.
The National Company "Bulgarian State Railways" (NKŽI) quickly responded by dispatching cranes and teams to raise the wagons and commence repair works. They also appointed a commission to investigate the root cause of the incident. To minimize inconvenience, coaches were arranged for passengers on affected trains on the Per nik – Radomir stretch.
Remarkably, this is the second such incident to occur in a day. Yesterday, a passenger train traveling from Tsareva Livada to Gabrovo had also derailed, as reported by Offnews.bg.
Travelers are advised to stay updated on the latest developments and adjust their plans accordingly. The safety and convenience of passengers remain a top priority for the railway authorities, who are working diligently to restore normal train services soon.
