Weather Alert: Enjoy Winter Sports This Week, Mild and Wet Next Week Awaits
Prepare for a taste of spring! The upcoming week promises mild weather, alerting Norwegians to make the most of their winter sport activities before a significant change in climate arrives.
Anne Solveig Andersen, duty meteorologist at Weather Forecasting on the West Coast, shared, "We’re experiencing a shift in weather patterns. It’s varying when it hits different regions, but from the end of the weekend and into next week, expect some significant milder temperatures."
Until the shift, enjoy sub-zero temperatures—ranging from -8°C to -10°C overnight—and clear skies, allowing for perfect winter idylls. But brace yourself, the calm before the storm won’t last long.
Mark your calendars: Sunday is set to register up to 5°C, with rain showers expected in the evening. Andersen warns, "Next week is predicted to be mild and rainy. Some snow might fall, but it shouldn’t last long."
Beware of potential challenges; Monday is expected to receive over 30mm of rainfall in several areas, posing risks of localized flooding and slippery roads.
Andersen adds, "We’re closely monitoring for potential rainfall warnings and increased avalanche risks." Stay alert and weather-aware in the coming days.
Enjoy winter while it lasts, as milder times are just around the corner.
