Did You Know? The UH-60L Black Hawk has a nearly 50-year operational history worldwide and can reach speeds close to 280 kilometers per hour while carrying up to eleven equipped troops and external loads.
New aircraft establish tactical mobility capability
The new acquisitions establish an initial core for a brand-new tactical mobility capability within the Argentine Army. Ministry statements indicate that the procurement was structured through the Foreign Military Sales system and the Black Hawk Exchange and Sales Transaction program to optimize resources efficiently.

These four medium helicopters will progressively replace the aging Bell UH-1H Huey units operated by the army aviation command. They will also fill the operational void left by the retired Aérospatiale AS332B Super Puma fleet, marking the arrival of the first medium helicopter type to the army aviation branch in over forty years.
Border Security and Disaster Response Missions
United States Ambassador Peter Lamelas stated via social media that the aircraft will assist Argentina in reinforcing border security, confronting transnational crime, and providing support during emergencies and disasters. The Ministry of Defense added that the units will expand rapid deployment capabilities, search and rescue operations, and aerial firefighting tasks.

More than thirty nations already operate the Black Hawk platform for diverse missions including medical evacuation and personnel transport. Argentina currently operates a single Black Hawk designated exclusively for presidential transport duties.
