Bergen Police Raid Hotel After Reported Knife Threat

Bergen police descended on Kong Oscars gate Friday evening following reports of a potential threat involving a knife at a local hotel. The incident was first reported to the press at 22:44.

In a statement, operations leader Stein Rune Øyjordsbakken Halleraker from the Vest Police District confirmed that a 20-year-old man was arrested on drunkenness charges and also faces charges of threatening other hotel guests.

"Our priority was to ensure the safety of all individuals involved and the wider public," Halleraker stated. "We have control over all those involved. No one was injured, and there is no ongoing risk to the public."

Police, who were armed and prepared, spoke with witnesses and those affected by the incident to gather more information. They are currently investigating whether any criminal offenses have been committed.

In an interview with Bergensavisen (BA), operations leader Halleraker described the situation as "very undramatic."
