Woman Arrested for Murder in Yambol: Man Slashed in Neck
A 25-year-old woman is in custody for 72 hours, accused of murdering a man in Yambol. The crime was committed using a knife, with which a fatal blow was struck to the victim’s neck region. This was reported by Tатяна Павлова, spokeswoman for the local police.
The 57-year-old victim’s body was discovered late on January 2 in the area of the former "Cherven Bair" military unit in the northern part of the city. It was found during an operational check, police added. The crime was committed the same day in a bunker located in this area, according to the Yambol Regional Prosecutor’s Office.
The deceased man was from Burgas and led a nomadic lifestyle, police stated. "His contacts in Yambol and the places he visited have been checked. As a result, the perpetrator, who maintained close ties with him, was identified and apprehended in Nova Zagora, where she attempted to hide," the police added.
The woman confessed to the crime and detailed its execution to the police. The Yambol Regional Prosecutor’s Office will soon apply for a pre-trial detention order against the suspect.
