Barcelona Welcomes the Three Wise Men: Cabalgata de los Reyes Magos 2025
This Sunday, January 5, Barcelona will host the much-anticipated Cabalgata de los Reyes Magos 2025, a magical event that fills the streets with excitement and wonder, as children eagerly await the arrival of Melchor, Gaspar, and Baltasar.
The festivities will begin at 3:30 PM when the Three Wise Men arrive by boat at Barcelona’s port. The grand procession will kick off at 6:00 PM on Avinguda Marquès de l’Argentera and will conclude with a magnificent display of lights and sound at Avinguda Reina Maria Cristina’s Magic Fountain at 9:15 PM.
Melchor, Gaspar, and Baltasar will traverse several iconic points in the city this year, maintaining the same route as last year to accommodate ongoingconstruction projects. The route includes:
- 18:00 h: Avinguda Marquès de l’Argentera
- 18:15 h: Passeig de Colom
- 19:10 h: Avinguda del Paral·lel
- 19:30 h: Ronda de Sant Pau
- 19:45 h: Mercat de Sant Antoni
- 20:30 h: Carrer Sepúlveda
- 20:45 h: Plaça Espanya
- 21:15 h: Avinguda Reina Maria Cristina (Font Màgica de Montjuïc)
This year’s cabalgata will feature adapted spaces for people with reduced mobility, which organizers recommend accessing at least 30 minutes before the 6:00 PM start time. Accessible areas can be found at the following locations:
- Moll de la Fusta (L4 metro stop Barceloneta, R15 & R2S trains, D20, V15, & V17 buses)
- Plaza de Antonio López with Passeig d’Isabel II (L4 metro stop Jaume I, R15 & R2S trains, D20, V15, & V17 buses)
- Plaza de España (L1 & L3 metro lines, R1, R6, RG1, S9 trains, A1, A2, CJ, D40, E95, H12, H16, L86, & V7 buses)
The Three Wise Men will arrive at the Portal de la Pau by sea aboard the pailebote Santa Eulàlia at 3:30 PM, where they will be greeted by Barcelona’s mayor, Jaume Collboni. As a symbolic gesture, the mayor will present the keys to the city to the Reyes Magos, marking their official entry into Barcelona’s homes and hearts.
The grand Cabalgata de los Reyes Magos will begin at 6:00 PM on Avinguda del Marquès de l’ Argentera, led by the royal pages Gregori, Estel, Omar, and the postmen. The Reyes Magos will be accompanied by an impressive entourage of carriages, spectacle, and color.
The Barcelona City Council has announced there will be no limited capacity for this year’s event, and reserved spaces will be available for individuals with disabilities or special needs.
