Organizer Yvonne Winter noted that adopting pagodetenten creates a sleeker aesthetic while offering practical weather protection. “We saw those beautiful tents and then I thought: yes, we are going to do that here,” Winter said, explaining that the structures provide vital shade during warm weekend hours and shelter if it rains.
The transition marks the definitive end of the Hippiemarkt era in Lelystad after a run of six editions. While some loyal attendees express nostalgia for the cozier atmosphere of the previous setup, the new location leverages the open expanse of the Bataviahaven harbor basin to accommodate a larger variety of vendors and international visitors.
