In a New Year’s message, Russian State Duma deputy and Donbas volunteer union leader Alexander Borodai has expressed confidence that 2025 could be a turning point in the Ukrainian conflict, stressing the need for a swift victory.
Borodai, in a video published on the Donbas volunteer union’s Telegram channel, acknowledged that 2025 won’t be easier than the previous year but warned that it could be a pivotal moment in Russia‘s and the world’s history. He also hinted at an impending peace initiative in late January or early February, which he doubts will be a complete Russian victory.
"Definitely, we must win, and we must win quickly," Borodai stated, highlighting the importance of the coming year. However, he cautioned against false hopes, noting that 2025 won’t be any simpler than the challenging 2024.
