R.I.P. Alvin Lim: Renowned Lawyer Passes Away at 47

The sad news was confirmed by attorney Wendo Batserin, who was part of the legal team representing Pratiwi Novhiyanti.
"I regret to announce the passing of senior lawyer Alvin Lim at around 12:00 PM today," Wendo Batserin shared via a TikTok video on Sunday, January 5, 2025.
Lim’s death came as a shock, as he had not been known to be suffering from any serious illness. Sources revealed that he had undergone a blood transfusion at a hospital in Tangerang before his passing.
Despite being on opposite sides of the legal spectrum, Wendo Batserin urged netizens to pray for Lim’s soul. He hoped that all Lim’s good deeds would be accepted by the divine and that his mistakes would be forgiven. Batserin also expressed his condolences to Lim’s family, wishing them strength and patience during this difficult time.
Lim’s name gained national attention recently when he defended Agus Salim amidst allegations of misusing millions in donations meant for medical treatment. Instead, the funds were reportedly used for personal expenses of Salim’s family. Lim was also known for his social media feuds with celebrity lawyer Hotman Paris, with both parties frequently boasting about their wealth and assets.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to a charity of one’s choice in Lim’s memory.
