Kim Gordon and St. Vincent Open August in Los Angeles
According to Grimy Goods, the month kicks off on Aug. 2 with Sonic Youth co-founder Kim Gordon performing at Pacific Electric, featuring openers Sasami and Sarah Register, while she tours behind her 2024 album The Collective. Also on Aug. 2, St. Vincent brings her live show to the Hollywood Bowl in support of her Grammy-winning 2024 album All Born Screaming, and Death Cab for Cutie plays the first of a two-night stint at the Greek Theatre on Aug. 2–3 alongside Nation of Language.
Mid-August Brings Diverse Venues and Electronic Headliners
Live music continues into mid-August with the Meridian Brothers at The Regent on Aug. 5, Die Spitz at the Fonda Theatre on Aug. 5, Com Truise at 1720 on Aug. 6, and Iceage performing at Hollywood Forever on Aug. 6–7, as outlined by Grimy Goods. RÜFÜS DU SOL takes over the Kia Forum for four nights on Aug. 7, 11, 12, and 13 alongside Ben Böhmer, while Boy Harsher plays an intimate show at Milky’s on Aug. 7 ahead of their tour.

Festival season highlights include the Just Like Heaven festival at Brookside at the Rose Bowl on Aug. 22, featuring The Strokes, LCD Soundsystem, and others, alongside Olivia Rodrigo’s Daisy Chain Fields festival at Great Park in Irvine on Aug. 29, which features a lineup including Chappell Roan, Doechii, Bikini Kill, and The Breeders.
