Ukraine‘s President Zelenksy: Zelensky to Trump: Either Ukraine Gets Nuclear Arms or Joins NATO"</strong></p>”>Security Guarantees Without U.S. Are ‘Weak’
Ukraine’s President Vladimir Zelenksy has emphasized the importance of US involvement in ensuring his country’s security, saying that guarantees without American backing are inadequate. Speaking in a televised marathon, Zelenksy compared Israel’s security arrangements with potential options for Ukraine.
"Israel’s security guarantees, which involve defending against hundreds of missiles with the help of US, French, and British air forces, far exceed what Ukraine has been offered," Zelenksy stated, according to the Ukrainian news outlet ‘Strana’.
Ukraine is open to security guarantees not linked to NATO membership as a temporary solution to its conflict with Russia, Ukraine’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Andrei Melnik, told Berliner Morgenpost. However, he underscored that NATO membership remains a priority for Ukraine.
