Title: Norwegian Artist Trygve Skaug Mourns the Loss of His Father

In a heartfelt Instagram post, popular Norwegian artist, songwriter, and poet Trygve Skaug (39) expressed his deep sorrow at the passing of his father, Terje Skaug (73), who peacefully slipped away with his family by his side.

Describing his grief, Skaug wrote, "We are all feeling a profound, heavy, and painful sorrow now. We were gathered around his bedside when he left us yesterday evening. However, there is also a profound sense of gratitude. Pappa was one of the kindest men I’ve ever known – inclusive, patient, wise, somewhat mischievous, relaxed, deep, funny, and full of life."

Skaug, who has over 190,000 followers on Instagram, has been open about his family’s loss. His father’s passing comes just a year after he revealed his struggle with depression and anxiety in an interview with Norsk Ukeblad.

In that same interview, Skaug spoke about his close relationship with his parents, saying, "That’s where I go when something happens, whether it’s a great album review or a divorce." He highlighted that his parents always encouraged him and his siblings, giving them "wings" when faced with obstacles.

The artist, who gained national fame as part of the successful TV2 show "Hver gang vi møtes" in 2001 and again in 2019 with "Allsang på grensen," has been comforted by the outpouring of support from fans and fellow artists since his father’s passing.

Skaug’s management has been informed about the coverage of the sad event.
