Breaking News: Fire Erupts at Tesla Factory in Tilburg

THILLED, Netherlands — A significant fire has broken out at Tesla’s factory in Tilburg, Netherlands, with multiple car batteries reported to be ablaze. The incident, which occurred on Saturday afternoon, sent billowing clouds of white smoke into the sky from the building housing the electric vehicle giant’s operations on the Asteriastraat.

Firefighters are currently at the scene, and the blaze has been contained. No human injuries have been reported thus far, according to the Safety Authority in Midden- and West-Brabant.

The fire began around 3:30 PM local time. The cause of the blaze is not yet known, and neither is the extent of the damage to the factory or the vehicles. The integrated sprinkler system is credited with preventing the fire from spreading further.

All 50 employees on site have been safely evacuated. The emergency services are now submerging the batteries in a specially designed containment tank, known as a ‘dampener,’ to facilitate cooling.
