World of Warcraft: Forever Launches November 4, 2026
Blizzard Entertainment is positioning its next major update as a massive on-ramp for the long-running MMORPG. Titled World of Warcraft: Forever, the update is scheduled to launch on November 4, 2026, following a beta testing period that opens on September 17, 2026. According to reporting from Game Informer, the update introduces new zones, a fresh playable race, and expanded class and race combinations built around a level 60 progression journey.
By rolling out both near-term content and expansion teasers at once, the studio is giving players a clear runway through 2027. The November release sits alongside the final chapter of the current Midnight expansion.
Eclipse and the Climax of Midnight in Early 2027
Before the story moves to its ultimate conclusion, players will navigate the final chapter of the current Midnight expansion. Blizzard announced that Eclipse will serve as this concluding update, scheduled for release in early 2027.
During the opening ceremony at BlizzCon 2026, game designer Ion Hazzikostas detailed where the narrative stands as the void harbinger Xal’atath closes in on Azeroth’s Worldsoul. A new cinematic trailer shows the antagonist a toe’s length away
from her ultimate objective, according to Hazzikostas.
Hazzikostas explained that after moving narrative pieces across the board in The War Within and Midnight, the story accelerates rapidly toward its payoff.
The Last Titan Closes the Worldsoul Saga in 2027
Following Eclipse, World of Warcraft will enter its twelfth expansion, titled The Last Titan. Set for release in 2027, the add-on serves as the third and final chapter in the Worldsoul Saga.
Blizzard teased the expansion with a brief trailer during the BlizzCon opening ceremony, flashing the Wyrmrest Temple in Northrend before a colossal entity stomped into view to unleash a massive energy attack. Hazzikostas offered an apology to fans for the sparse details, explaining that the studio is withholding specifics to avoid spoiling the catastrophic events of Midnight.
Longdale also promised a kick-ass year for Warcraft,
pointing to a packed schedule that bridges the gap between near-term updates and major expansions. Blizzard plans to share deeper details about The Last Titan early next year once the narrative dust settles from Eclipse.
Wrath of the Lich King Remix Arrives in Summer 2027
Alongside the mainline expansions, Blizzard confirmed that Wrath of the Lich King will receive the remix treatment. Previous remix events have focused on Mists of Pandaria and Legion.
These limited-time events let players spin up a level 1 character and speed through an iconic expansion on an accelerated patch schedule. Participants earn currency for cosmetics, mounts, and pets that carry over into the regular game, while characters transfer to the standard servers once the event concludes. Community speculation leading up to BlizzCon had worried the next remix might target lesser-liked expansions like Warlords of Draenor or Shadowlands. Instead, Blizzard chose its best-known expansion, lining up the chilly winds of Northrend for a hot summer in 2027.
