Artist’s Company Loses Lawsuit over Million-Dollar Villa on Dalarö

Carola Häggkvist’s company, Carola Musikproduktion AB, has lost a lawsuit over a villa on Dalarö, outside Stockholm. The company must now pay close to SEK 4 million in legal costs, Swedish tabloid Expressen reports.

The dispute centers around a former employee who embezzled millions from the company between 2017 and 2019. The man was later declared bankrupt but sold the Dalarö villa to a female acquaintance before going insolvent. Carola Musikproduktion AB argued that the sale should be reversed, allowing the property to be included in the bankrupt’s estate.

However, Södertörn District Court ruled that the villa’s market value was at least SEK 2 million at the time of sale. The woman purchased the property for around SEK 915,000, but the court concluded that she did not know the man was insolvent at the time of purchase. Consequently, Carola Musikproduktion AB lost the case and will now cover the woman’s legal expenses of SEK 388,000.

Expressen was unable to obtain a comment from Carola Musikproduktion AB’s lawyer involved in the case.
