Carabineros executed simultaneous raids across six properties in Lo Espejo and La Cisterna on Monday, September 29, 2026, recovering 17 radio intercom chargers, 2,100,000 pesos in cash, two mobile phones, and a quantity of creatine. These operations were carried out as part of the investigation into the murder of Corporal Christopher Andrés Aguilera Fernández.
The search and entry procedures were previously authorized by the Southern Metropolitan Regional Prosecutor’s Office. The investigation into the death of the officer, identified as the institution’s 1,263rd martyr and a member of the 42nd Radiopatrols Precinct, has revealed the existence of related crimes involving weapons and drug control law violations.
Seized Items and Evidence
Among the materials recovered during the raids, police seized 2.1 million pesos in cash and 17 chargers for intercom radios. Additionally, officers recovered two cell phones and creatine, which is currently awaiting field testing and weighing. According to BioBioChile, the creatine is being analyzed because the substance is used to bulk drugs.

The raids follow a fatal event that occurred on Sunday, September 27, during a preventive patrol in the Las Dunas neighborhood of Lo Espejo. Corporal Aguilera died after receiving a gunshot to the face fired by Brayan Farías Díaz, a Venezuelan citizen. The assailant was also killed after being shot by another officer.

While no arrests have been reported in connection with these specific raids, forensic work is expected to continue over the coming hours. The objective of the current investigation is to clarify the alleged involvement of a gang to which the individual who murdered the corporal may have belonged.
