Corruption Allegations and Police Evidence
Febrie Adriansyah was named a suspect by the Indonesian National Police’s Corruption Eradication Task Force (Kortastipidkor Polri) in connection with alleged corruption linked to the state insurer PT Asabri. On July 8-9, 2026, police conducted searches across dozens of locations, including Febrie’s residence in Sentul, Bogor. Inspector General Totok Suharyanto, chief of the Kortastipidkor, stated that authorities discovered a locked safe containing seven suitcases. These suitcases allegedly held 74 kilograms of gold, US$4.77 million, S$14.08 million, and Rp100 million. Authorities noted that this property was absent from Febrie’s official State Officials’ Wealth Report (LHKPN).
Legal Defense and Procedural Disputes
Hotman Paris Hutapea, serving as Febrie’s lawyer, has rejected the allegations and challenged the legitimacy of the investigation. On July 18, 2026, Hotman argued that the suspect-naming process failed to comply with the Criminal Procedure Code (KUHAP), asserting that Febrie was allegedly not summoned or questioned before the designation.
