Norway’s meteorological institute has issued multiple warnings, preparing the nation for a significant snowfall on Monday. The situation is expected to bring chaos, with heavy snowfall predicted throughout the day.

"Several districts will be affected by heavy snowfall throughout the day on Monday," says the Institute’s weather forecast. "We expect a few centimeters of fresh snow, which can lead to disruptions in traffic and possibly power outages."

The Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation (NRK) reports that the snowfall is expected to be heaviest in eastern Norway, with up to 50 centimeters of snow in mountainous areas. The snowline will also lower significantly, reaching as far south as the coast.

"A raw and snowy day awaits us," says the meteorologist at the Norwegian Meteorological Institute. "The snow will start early in the morning and continue throughout the day. It will be windy in many places, and the snow will drift."

Public transport is expected to be affected, with Ruter, Oslo’s public transport authority, urging commuters to check their website for the latest updates. "We are prepared and have extra resources set aside to handle potential disruptions," says a spokesperson for Ruter.

Road users are encouraged to exercise caution, with the Norwegian Public Roads Administration warning of slippery roads and reduced visibility. "Driving will be challenging, and we ask everyone to adjust their driving to the conditions," says a spokesperson.

The Norwegian Red Cross has also issued a warning, urging people to be prepared. "Heavy snowfall can lead to power outages and make it difficult to get around. Make sure you have a plan and supplies in case of emergencies," says a spokesperson.

In preparation for the storm, Oslo Municipality has deployed extra snowplows and sanding trucks. "We are prepared and will do everything we can to keep the city moving," says a spokesperson for the municipality.
