Title: Tragic Fire Claims Life in Abandoned Building in Bulgarian Border Town
Article:
In a tragic incident, a 59-year-old man lost his life in a fire that engulfed an abandoned building in the Bulgarian border town of Kardam. The fire was reported around 8 AM local time, with firefighters discovering the charred body of the victim upon arrival.
The blaze occurred in a building that was previously owned by the National Company for Infrastructure (NKZI), but was deemed uninhabitable years ago. Despite being abandoned, the structure had found shelter for a homeless resident, who was using a solid fuel stove for heat, suspected to be the cause of the fire.
This incident comes on the heels of another devastating fire at Sofia’s Central Railway Station yesterday, which claimed four lives and injured two. Two suspects have been detained, both with previous convictions; one for arson.
According to police, there were nine homeless individuals in the two train carriages where the fire occurred. Please follow us for more updates on this story and other breaking news in our Google News Showcase.
