Bulgaria Braces for Snow Showers and Strong Winds

Cloudy skies are expected to blanket a significant portion of Bulgaria over the next 24 hours, with light snowfall predicted in the central and eastern regions of Northern Bulgaria. The forecast calls for clouds to break overnight in parts of Southern Bulgaria and during the day in Western regions. Winds will be light across the country, picking up to moderate strengths in the valley of Struma and Eastern Bulgaria, predominantly blowing from the north-northwest.

Temperatures are expected to range from -4°C to 1°C overnight and 1°C to 6°C during the day. In Sofia and Blagoevgrad, temperatures will hover around -3°C at night and 2°C to 3°C during the day.

In the mountains of Central and Eastern Bulgaria, expect cloudy skies with snow showers. In the Western regions, winds will be strong to stormy from the northeast. Temperatures at 1200 meters will peak around 0°C, and at 2000 meters, they will drop to approximately -6°C.

The Black Sea coast is forecast to be mostly cloudy, with light snow showers predicted on the northern coast before midday. Daytime temperatures will range from 3°C to 6°C, with sea water temperatures around 9°C to 10°C. Expect moderate sea conditions, with waves at 3 to 4 on the severity scale.
