China begins testing coronavirus vaccine for military

Chinese pharmaceutical company CanSino Biologics said it has received approval from the authorities to begin testing its COVID-19 vaccine in the military.

The vaccine was developed jointly with the Beijing Institute of Biotechnology and the Chinese Academy of Military Medical Sciences. In total, eight coronavirus vaccines are being developed in the country, but CanSino products were the first to reach mass testing. The vaccine successfully passed the first and second phases of laboratory tests, showing the “potential for the prevention of diseases” caused by coronavirus. As a result, she received the approval of the Central Military Commission of China. The military test permit is valid for one year.
