President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo has officially inaugurated the rail link serving the Felipe Ángeles International Airport (AIFA). The project, specifically the Lechería-AIFA route, is now operational, with the President declaring the mission accomplished.
Expanding Regional Connectivity
In a video shared via social media, President Sheinbaum emphasized that the train is designed to provide critical connectivity. She noted that the service will benefit not only airport travelers but also residents of the State of Mexico living in the surrounding area.
The President attributed the successful completion of the project to the work of military engineers, whom she described as being “of the first class.”
Future Rail Developments
Beyond the current inauguration, the administration is tracking progress on further expansions. President Sheinbaum revealed that the railway route extending from AIFA to Pachuca, Hidalgo, has reached a 30 percent completion rate.
