Title: Horrific metro murder: Suspect sits and watches woman burn alive in NYC subway car
A chilling video has surfaced showing a man allegedly setting a woman on fire inside a Coney Island-bound F train, then callously watching as she burned to death just three days before Christmas. The New York Post obtained the horrifying footage from an unidentified source.
The incident occurred on Sunday morning around 7:30 AM as the train was stopped at the Coney Island-Stillwell Avenue station. The suspect, dressed in a gray hoodie, jeans, brown boots, and a dark knitted hat with a red band, is seen in the video pouring an unknown accelerant onto a woman seated inside the train car door. He then strikes a match and throws it onto her, setting her ablaze.
In a shocking display of indifference, the suspect remains seated nearby, calmly watching the woman convulse and Burn to death. A transit police officer passes by the open door, appearing to communicate something over his radio before moving on. Only after the officer has left does the suspect rise from his seat, seemingly preparing to leave.
The New York Police Department (NYPD) has since released a composite sketch of the suspect and urges anyone with information to come forward. Despite the graphic nature of the footage, investigators have yet to identify the victim or determine a motive for the attack.
As questions remain unanswered and the search for the suspect continues, New Yorkers grapple with the horror of this senseless act of violence that played out on one of the city’s busiest transportation systems.
