Article:

GGD Drenthe’s Jeugdgezondheidszorg (JGZ) is expanding its support for expectant parents with the launch of a new service, the ‘Startmoment’ Consultation Bureau. Building on the success of a pilot project in Hoogeveen, this comprehensive program begins on January 1, 2023, and is open to all women who are 22 weeks or more into their pregnancy, along with their partners.

The ‘Startmoment’ Consultation Bureau is designed to help expecting parents prepare for the arrival of their baby and the responsibilities of parenthood. Through these consultations, GGD Drenthe aims to inform and educate parents about the resources available to them and explain how the consultation bureau operates.

What to Expect

  • Q&A Sessions: There’s plenty of room for questions, and GGD Drenthe will provide information on what to expect once your baby is born, including sleeping patterns, crying, and feeding.
  • Vaccinations: The ‘Startmoment’ Consultation Bureau will also offer vaccinations to women who wish to receive them during their pregnancy.

Who Can Benefit?

The ‘Startmoment’ Consultation Bureau is open to all expectant mothers, regardless of whether it’s their first child. Each consultation is tailored to the individual’s needs, as no two pregnancies are exactly the same.
