Double Homicide in Juan José Castelli: Employee the Main Suspect

A shocking discovery was made in the town of Juan José Castelli, Chaco, as a couple, Manuela González (50) and her partner Orlando Alegre (60), were found dead in their home. The bodies were in an advanced state of decomposition when discovered around 5:30 PM on Monday by a passerby. Preliminary investigations point to a grim suspicion: one of their employees, Rubén Alejandro Pérez, is the prime suspect.

The victims, who ran a local alpargata (traditional Argentine footwear) business, met their fate through repeated blows from a blunt object. Pieces of a 40-cm long wooden bat, stained with what appeared to be blood and hair, were found at the scene. The estimated time of the crime suggests it occurred between 24 to 36 hours before the bodies were discovered.

González suffered injuries to her neck, while Alegre had severe wounds on his head, face, and back. Neighbor testimonies led investigators to Pérez, a Uruguayan-born employee with Argentine nationality. Witnesses reported seeing Pérez leaving the house on Monday morning around 10 AM, carrying a backpack and two bags.

Chief of Police, Fernando Romero, noted that there were no signs of forced entry, hinting at the possibility that the victims knew their assailant. The case is being handled by Fiscalía N°2 under Gerónimo Roggero, who has ordered Pérez’s arrest under the charge of ‘supposed double homicidio’. Meanwhile, the Division of Complex Investigations is reviewing CCTV footage from the area and encouraging the public to report any relevant information by calling 911.
