Lahore is preparing for the return of Basant, a traditional spring festival, from February 6 to 8. In anticipation, a Pakistani couple currently living in Europe has returned to their hometown to celebrate and reconnect with cherished childhood memories.
A Return to Tradition
The wife explained to Geo News that her husband’s desire to relive his youth prompted their trip. “My husband wanted to refresh his childhood memories, so we have come specifically just to celebrate Basant,” she said.
Her husband added that they plan to fully immerse themselves in the festivities with family. “We intend to celebrate in a very enthusiastic way. We will enjoy a lot with our family. Many years have passed, and by coming to Mochi Gate, I have refreshed my childhood memories. The government has done a very good job; we appreciate it.”
Preparations are underway throughout Lahore, with officially registered sales points the only authorized locations to purchase kites and strings until February 8.
