Three police officers have been dismissed for their involvement in the alleged harassment of concertgoers at the DWP 2024 event. The incident, which drew public outrage, has led to the dismissal of five police officers so far, with three more set to face disciplinary action.

The Incident

A Malaysian man in his 20s became one of the alleged victims when he was approached by a man claiming to be a police officer while watching a performance at the DWP event with his Indonesian friend. The man was then taken to a separate area, where he was asked to hand over his passport for an alleged administrative check.

The man’s friend witnessed the entire incident and reported that the police officer took not only his friend’s passport but also those of several other foreign nationals, along with an undisclosed amount of cash. The man was eventually released after his friend paid the officer Rp 200,000.

The Investigation

The incident sparked public fury, prompting an investigation into the matter. Investigators later discovered that the police officer involved in the incident was part of a larger network of officers who had been targeting foreign nationals at the event.

The Aftermath

The investigation led to the dismissal of five police officers, including the three highest-ranking officers involved in the incident. Among them are:

  1. Direktur Reserse Narkoba Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Donald Parlaungan Simanjuntak (DPS)
  2. Panit 1 Unit 3 Subdit 3 Ditresnarkoba Polda Metro Jaya AKP Yudhy Triananta Syaeful (YTS)
  3. Kasubdit 3 Ditresnarkoba Polda Metro Jaya AKBP Malvino Edward Yusticia (MEY)

All three officers were dismissed not with honor (PTDH) as a punishment for their actions.
