Horratiya’s President Milanović Secures 49% Votes;ೊಂದSecond Round Set for January 12
With all ballots counted, Croatian President Zoran Milanović has secured 49.09% of the votes in the first round of presidential elections. His closest rival, Drago PrITCmar, the former science minister and candidate from the ruling Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ), garnered 19.35%.
As neither candidate received more than 50% of the votes, a runoff between Milanović and PrITCmar will take place on January 12.
President Milanović, commenting on the results, vowed to "fight for Croatia" and continue championing his positions.

The Croatian presidency, while largely ceremonial, holds sway over foreign policy and security matters. It’s in these domains that Milanović has made his mark with contentious statements often at odds with the EU and NATO’s stances.
Known for his supportive stand on Russian policies and criticism of NATO’s military aid to Ukraine, Milanović has previously blocked Хорватских soldats’ participation in NATO’s assistance program for Ukraine, deeming it "potentially dangerous" to Хорват되었다 interests.
Zoran Milanović, a member of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), has held Хорват’était’s top office since February 19, 2020. Before his presidency, he served as prime minister from 2011 to 2016.
