Match Action at De Vliert
The fixture kicked off after a ceremonial appearance by a ball-retrieval dog named Sjefke in honor of Animal Day, as noted by RTV Dordrecht. The initial phase yielded few clear-cut opportunities aside from an early header by FC Den Bosch defender Stan Maas that comfortably reached goalkeeper Tim Coremans. FC Dordrecht responded quickly when Martin Vetkal launched Nicolas Rossi through on goal, but the Uruguayan attacker shot too wildly and sent his effort over the crossbar defended by Pepijn van de Merbel.
Den Bosch pressed for an opener through set pieces, highlighted by a 30th-minute corner where central defender Silvan Bröker directed a strong header toward the corner before Coremans made a sharp save. Both sides entered halftime scoreless. Den-bosch.nieuws.nl detailed that Den Bosch maintained frequent possession throughout the opening forty-five minutes but struggled repeatedly to breach the compact visiting defense.
Senne Vugts scores first official strike
FC Dordrecht shifted the momentum immediately after the break. Ouarghi found teammate Senne Vugts, who cut past his defender and fired a low shot into the near corner off the foot of Hessel Eikelboom to put the visitors ahead in the 55th minute. Den-bosch.nieuws.nl confirmed the goal marked Vugts’s first official strike for FC Dordrecht. Just after the restart, Ouarghi had also struck a shot from about twenty meters out that disappeared past Van de Merbel’s goal.
Trailing by a goal, FC Den Bosch intensified their pressure. In the 80th minute, a powerful shot from Sheddy Barglan struck the lightly outstretched arm of Dordrecht defender Beni Mpanzu inside the penalty area. Referee Joshua Kuipers pointed directly to the spot, and Kévin Monzialo converted the resulting penalty with a calm finish into the corner to equalize at 1-1, according to Omroep Brabant.
Stan Maas header threatens to win match
Den Bosch surged forward in search of a winner during the closing moments. Monzialo delivered a high cross into the box that met Stan Maas, whose close-range header threatened to turn the match completely until Coremans produced another crucial reflex save to preserve the draw for Dordrecht, as reported by Den-bosch.nieuws.nl.
Ouarghi picked up a yellow card near the end of his shift before manager Paul Nuijten replaced him with Adil Lechkar in the 89th minute. Coremans finished the encounter under the crossbar because regular first-choice goalkeeper Yanick van Osch was not fit to play.
