Exam Participation and Eligibility
According to the CSC, 22,211 individuals took the Fire Officer Examination, while 10,810 candidates sat for the Penology Officer Examination on June 7, 2026. These exams were held at designated testing centers across the country.
Passing these examinations is a primary eligibility requirement for those seeking second-level uniformed positions within the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) and the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP). The CSC noted that candidates must still comply with all other qualifications prescribed by law to join these agencies.
Accessing Individual Ratings via OCSERGS
Both successful and unsuccessful examinees can check their specific scores starting July 27, 2026, through the Online Civil Service Examination Result Generation System (OCSERGS). The CSC stated that ratings will not be sent via mail.
To use the system, examinees need to provide the following details:
- Examinee Number
- Complete Name
- Date of Birth
- Examination Date
- Examination Type
- Place of Examination
The commission emphasized that all results are final. No mathematical rounding of scores or rechecking of exams is permitted.
Claiming the Certificate of Eligibility (COE)
Passers must request their Certificate of Eligibility (COE) on official CSC letterhead within a few weeks of the results release. These certificates are issued free of charge at the CSC Regional or Field Office where the candidate took the exam.
FOE passers should verify if their letterhead COE is ready before visiting the office. Required documents for claiming include an ID card (preferably the one used during application) and the application or official receipt.
As an alternative, candidates may pay a fee for a COE printed on security paper. These security paper certificates and authenticated copies are available at any of the 16 CSC Regional Offices nationwide, regardless of where the exam was administered.
