Breaking: Russian Forces Aim to Break Through and Surround Pokrovsk
In a strategic move, Russian troops are attempting to breach the defenses around Pokrovsk, aiming to encircle the city. According to a report by 24 Канал, citing Victor Treгубов, a spokesperson for the operational-strategic group "Zaporizhzhia," the Russians are focusing their efforts on the left and right flanks of the city.
The Pokrovsk region is currently one of the most substrategically significant areas, with three Russian field armies concentrated nearby. Despite the Russian attempts to push through, no major battles have yet been reported within the city or its immediate surroundings.
Interestingly, Ukraine celebrates Christmas on December 25, and one of the most iconic songs of this holiday, "Shchedryk" by Mykola Leontovych, was composed right here in Pokrovsk. However, the current situation remains tense, with no Russian sabotage groups spotted but the area remaining one of the hottest flashpoints.
"The enemy is striving to advance as far as possible from the outskirts of Pokrovsk, seeking to break through our defenses on the left and right flanks to encircle the city," Treгубов explained.
Fierce battles continue to rage on the Pokrovsk front. The enemy has an advantage in manpower, desperation fueling their offensive. Treгубов described the intensity of the clashes, stating that the Russian occupiers are throwing all their available forces into the battle, determined to breach Ukrainian defenses.
