Czech Creators Unveil World of Warcraft and Dungeons & Dragons Crossover Trailer

The historic crossover is supported by a cinematic trailer produced by the Czech studio All Animal, formerly known as NICE!, which has collaborated with Blizzard on World of Warcraft projects for several years.

Bringing Azeroth to the Tabletop

The upcoming Dungeons & Dragons expansion bridges two of the fantasy intellectual properties in gaming history. According to studio statements, the integration allows players to experience the lore, factions, and geography of Azeroth using Dungeons & Dragons rules. Wizards of the Coast and Blizzard Entertainment set the release of the 256-page hardcover volume for November 17, marking a major milestone for both franchises.

All Animal secured its ongoing relationship with Blizzard thanks to co-founder Radim Zeifart, who originally started his career in the industry by creating fan-made game trailers.

Inside the CGI Production

According to the studio, the visual concept centers on an iconic D20 die rolling through a series of handcrafted dioramas depicting Azeroth. Golden walls on the die reflect historical moments from World of Warcraft, requiring the animation team to carefully balance the distinct visual aesthetics of both universes.

“To emphasize the tabletop RPG aesthetic, the team reinforced the motif of hand-carved miniatures during production, giving iconic Azeroth locations a unique, tangible character,” All Animal explained regarding the creative process.

Production Credits and Sound Design

The trailer’s production involved a dedicated team of digital artists and technicians. Tomáš Pokorný directed the project, while Julie Czigle managed CGI production. Additional production work was handled by Ondřej Skalník, Šimon Lánský, Tomáš Engl, Marek Sosna, Martina Svojíková, Radim Zeifart, and Marek Štolún. Audio for the teaser was produced by the Slovak sound studio 4Boars, which composed the original score and executed the overall sound design.
