Fatal Crash in Raisting: Driver Loses Control
According to police, an 18-year-old was driving a VW on Heckenwiesenweg around 0:10 AM on Sunday, heading in the direction of the Erdfunkstelle. Near the Weiler Lachen, the driver reportedly left the roadway in a slight right curve and crashed head-on into a tree. The cause of the crash remains unknown.
Five people, all residents of the Landkreis Weilheim-Schongau, were in the vehicle at the time of the collision: the 18-year-old driver, a 16-year-old, a 16-year-old, a 17-year-old and a 19-year-old.
19-Year-Old Dies at Hospital
The 18-year-old driver and the three passengers aged 16 and 17 sustained serious injuries and were taken to nearby hospitals, some by helicopter. The 19-year-old passenger died at the Krankenhaus Weilheim despite resuscitation efforts. The vehicle was completely destroyed, with an estimated 30,000 euros in damages.
Large Response from Emergency Services
Fire departments from Raisting, Pähl, and Dießen, with approximately 40 personnel, responded to the scene, along with 15 members of the THW Weilheim. The road was completely closed for several hours during the investigation.
